The Court School, Glamorgan

The children at The Court School now have the opportunity to take part in imaginative and creative play with their new playground equipment.

Why did you want to develop your playground?

At The Court School we think that it’s very important to encourage outdoor learning and educational play. We wanted to develop a playground so that our children had more chances to take part in constructive play and to minimise opportunities for innappropriate behaviour and bullying. We also wanted to maximise the engagement of children in activities that could develop positive relationships. We felt that new playground equipment that the children would be required to share would contribute towards the development of social skills.

What were the key elements that made Playforce stand out from other providers?

Playforce was recommended to us by other people who had worked with the team. We were aware of its positive reputation and knew that the products Playforce supplies are of the highest quality. The team gave us some very helpful advice about how we could make the most of the space that we had available.

We are using our outdoor learning environment to take elements of the curriculum outside and to teach the children about their surroundings. We use the equipment to encourage pupils to work together and explore new ways of using it.
