Why did you want to develop your playground?
We were lacking an outdoor space at John Moore Primary School where both the youngest and the oldest children could be challenged. Developing a new playground with innovative equipment was the perfect way to encourage outdoor learning and educational play during the school day.

What were the key elements that made Playforce stand out from other providers?
Playforce is dedicated to designing outdoor playground equipment that supports learning and develops children’s minds and bodies through fun. This is something that we are really passionate about at John Moore Primary School and it was a real relief to find a company that shared our views. The equipment that they offer stimulates children’s imaginations and can help develop a variety of skills.

How are you using the space to deliver outdoor learning and educational play?
Our new playground is being used to encourage our pupils to be active in a fun and educational way. It is helping the school achieve its aim to provide an excellent education that enables each child to do their best in an environment where everyone is valued and respected.

What are the biggest benefits you have seen for the children?
We have seen some great improvements and developments in the children since installing our new playground. The equipment has helped improve social behaviour as well as stretch their muscles. With each section of the playground designed to work on developing a specific area of the body, our children have become happier and healthier.

Can you share any best practice insights you’ve gained?
Giving the children the opportunity to be part of the design process was a fantastic idea. They were all really enthusiastic to express their opinions and getting them involved in the planning has given them a great sense of ownership and responsibility.
