Glenbrook Primary School

The outdoor EYFS area at Glenbrook Primary School in Nottingham was a bland tarmac space with a few line markings. They wanted a new area to cover all areas of learning, focusing on communication skills and  physical activity. Head teacher Kirsty Ryan tells us more.
How would you describe your Playforce experience?
All the members of the Playforce team were helpful and supportive from the initial consultation with Neil through to the final sign of with Mark. We were very impressed with the attention to detail and determination from the team to create an amazing new play space.

What were the main factors for picking Playforce to undertake the project at your school?
Positive impact on the environment through the use of sustainable materials and recyclable materials. High quality of work has been seen at other schools with the Trust. A Woodland Tower installed by Playforce is actually on the main page of the Trusts website.

How would you rate the quality of the installation and the equipment?
The recycled materials within the high quality surfacing aligns with our schools zero waste ethos. All the equipment is of superior quality built to withstand all weather conditions, as well as daily use. It has been commented by a Local Authority personnel that the new area is one of the best looking developments he had seen in years!

Would you be happy to recommend Playforce to other schools?
Absolutely, all of the schools within our Trust have been inspired by our new EYFS outdoor provision, and are now looking to develop their outdoor environments with Playforce. A number of the schools locally and within the Trust have already worked with Playforce so their reputation proceeds them!

How has the new EYFS area improved your children’s play and learning?
Our children love the new EYFS outdoor provision. It is positively impacting not only on their physical development but also the language and communication.
