Why did you want to develop your playground?

At Aloeric Primary School we wanted to provide the children with playground equipment that would offer a range of healthy activities for play time. We decided to develop our outdoor space so that it would incorporate educational play and outdoor learning into the children’s daily routine.

What were the key elements that made Playforce stand out from other providers?

We were already aware of Playforce and its equipment because of its fantastic reputation within schools. The initial contact with the team members was helpful and precise, we felt reassured that they knew exactly what we wanted. Playforce’s extensive experience with schools enabled the team to design our playground efficiently and creatively.

The children’s motivation to learn and play has been greatly increased and outdoor environment has inspired them to be more creative.

How are you using the space to deliver outdoor learning and educational play?

Our playground equipment from Playforce is being used in a number of different ways to engage the pupils in physical activities. The Rock and Roll Log is a fun way to develop balancing skills while the net swamp requires quick and strong movements.

What are the biggest benefits you have seen for the children?

The children’s motivation to learn and play has been greatly increased and outdoor environment has inspired them to be more creative. The physical benefits for the children will improve their health in the long term and their behaviour has also seen a positive change.

Can you share any practice insights you have gained?

Ensuring that you have a good balance of safety and fun is extremely important. Teach the children how to use the equipment in a safe and respectful manner and keep members of staff standing close by to some of the higher activities.
