All Saints Primary School, Warwickshire

The new playground at All Saints Primary School is a space where the staff and children can enjoy safe outdoor learning and educational play.

Why did you want to develop your playground?

Our playground was in desperate need of a face-lift and we wanted to develop an outdoor space that would satisfy and challenge the pupils’ energies. While we wanted to ensure that the children would have fun, it was essential that the playground would be completely up-to-scratch for health and safety. All children have to take a few risks and a safe playground is the perfect place to do it.

What were the key elements that made Playforce stand out from other providers?

We consulted health and safety experts about our development ideas and they recommended Playforce to us. Playforce lived up to its fantastic reputation and it was clear that safety is one of their top priorities. The team was able to come up with a design that would be fun and challenging for the children but, most importantly, safe. They designed bespoke plans that would satisfy both staff and pupils.

How are we using the space to deliver outdoor learning & educational play?

The children are using the new equipment in a variety of ways to develop their social, physical and mental skills. The equipment is incorporated into the academic day to ensure our pupils get a balance of outdoor learning and educational play throughout the week. We encourage the children to work together to play with the equipment in new and unique ways.

What are the biggest benefits you have seen for the children?

Can you share any best practice insights you’ve gained?

Raising the money for a big project, such as a playground development, can be difficult so get everyone involved us. It took us three years to collect enough money for the project we wanted but it gives the school a great sense of achievement and was certainly worth the wait.
