In September 2021 we launched our biggest competition to date - a chance for schools and nurseries in England and Wales to win a playground valued at £10,000. Then in November, we announced Anfield Road Primary School the winners of our win a £10k playground competition.
Anfield Road Primary School Deputy Headteacher, Neil Griffiths said
''We (still) cannot believe that we have won the competition. We first heard about the competition from a member of staff. Their daughter had seen the competition online I think through Twitter. We then asked the School Council to meet and come up with the idea for the film. Our children are amazing and all of the ideas in the film came from them. The original film was over 2 minutes and was so difficult to take parts away. ''
School pupil, news reporter, and school chair Kamsy said, "Thank you so much for the money to help improve our playground. It means so much to us as a school council and school."
Shortly after receiving the news of their win their local Outdoor Grounds Consultant visited the school and met with Mr. Griffiths and the school council to understand their wants and needs for the play area and what sort of new equipment they ideally wanted.
Our Playforce team then presented the school with 2 options. These 2 proposed play area designs were then voted on by the school children.
The votes are in, but the children are yet to find out which was the most voted for option!
Our operations team recently visited the school to undertake a pre-start meeting ahead of the installation in a few weeks. We talked through the sequence of works with staff at the meeting and double-checked measurements, location, and access to ensure a smooth installation.
