School Playground Equipment Funding
The Playforce fact sheet is designed to act as a guide to help you secure funding towards a project on children's play.
It covers the essential steps you need to think about in order to get your playground equipment funding application, ways you should aim to structure your application and identifies the principal sources of funding available.
The guide has four aims:
- Specifically, to propose and prioritise playground fundraising campaigns across a range of potential income sources.
- As a tool to help seek feedback from governors, staff and others to ensure that the strategy is felt to be correct, understood and supported by all.
- To act as a springboard for clear action plans in each of the potential fundraising sectors.
- If it is ratified by the governors, this strategy will form the basis for rapid development of the schools activity
Playground equipment funding is an important subject for schools and other organisations looking to invest in a play area for children and others. Many of the playgrounds that we have worked on, as shown in our case study section, were built using funding from a variety of sources. These include money from government, PTA funds, National Lottery sources and other avenues.
In order to achieve playground equipment funding, we recommend that each funding application is specifically tailored. Using a funding template is unlikely to result in success, as is sending the same application to a variety of funding sources.
