Colin, your Managing Director

Since joining Playforce in 2008, Colin has been responsible for leading the business and its organisational vision. In plain English, this means combining his education sector expertise with almost 25 years’ experience of operations, as well as a healthy dose of common sense, to keep everything running in the right direction. Colin is regularly invited to comment and write on key issues within the educational play environment and spends a lot of his time tackling (and helping customers to tackle) the minefield that is funding, Government policy and linking play to the curriculum.

What I enjoy most about working at Playforce

Most people would expect the MD of any business to be single minded about the bottom line but the ethos within Playforce is to take time out to enjoy working with some great people, whilst challenging ourselves and others in our goal of delivering great service and value to our partner schools and their multi-cultured, multi-faceted and multi-skilled end users! To mis-quote Masterchef, “customers don’t come tougher than children”!

My favourite outdoor memory

I spent my day in anticipation of hearing a bell that would signal our ability to play football and rounders on the grass at break time. You can estimate my age when I say we had to make do with a single metal climbing frame as our play equipment – I look with envy at the massive range of play and outdoor classroom equipment available from Playforce. Perhaps that’s why I love working here!
