New Road Nursery

We have had our large Poddely Set for just over a week now and already it has exceeded our expectations.

I used it with our After School Club when the children made a large ball run which later became a water shoot. The teamwork between the children was fantastic and with children’s ages in the group ranging from 3 to 8 this was really nice to see. It stretched the children’s communication and literacy while also requiring negotiating. Problem solving was fantastic from clipping the chutes together to solving why the ball was getting stuck, then using team work to re use the water. The set has also been used by our under two’s just exploring the different textures and spaces while the 2-3 year olds helped to build and enjoyed rolling things down the chutes. It was great to see a 2 1/2yr old lifting a cube and saying “look at me I’m big and strong”. Finally our pre school group who set up two different projects one making large shapes and the others exploring rolling.
