Results announced for 2012 Big Science Event at Science Oxford
Well… what a day… what a day?!
We always knew that Britain’s children were clever little cookies but today’s Big Science Event at Science Oxford was proof if ever it was needed… and that only covered the one county!
We saw presentations from 13 schools covering all sorts of topics from exploding coke to feeding ants, testing eyesight and splashing with stones. Wow.
The judges spent a whole two hours debating the winning team but we’re delighted to announce the results as follows:
Winner of £1500 worth of Playforce equipment (Poddely or Discovery Flow Wall): St Aloysius
Second place: West Oxford
Highly commended: Stadhampton
Highly commended: Cropredy
Well done to everyone. You’ve demonstrated that science learning is alive and kicking in our primary schools and long may it last. We’re pretty certain that, today, we’ve seen one or two of the award-winning scientists of the future.
Thanks also to Science Oxford for organizing such an impressive event, inviting us to be involved and promoting learning like this across the region.
