Outdoor Classroom Perfect Place to Work, Rest and Play for Queens Road Primary School
A new outdoor classroom created for a Cheadle school by Playforce, the premier provider of playground equipment, is a welcome extension to school life.The timber-built octagonal covered shelter has a variety of uses and teachers, pupils and parents of Queen's Road Primary School are all enjoying the benefit.
It is the ideal place for parents to wait before the end of the school day, it is an excellent sunshade for pupils during playtime, it overlooks the sports field so is the perfect platform for spectators to watch from and it is an exciting, original and multi-functional outdoor classroom.
"It's a great extension not just to our playground equipment but also to our curriculum," said head teacher of the school, Catherine Wilde.
"It's such a fantastic space, the staff are using it as often as they can. We are very lucky to be in a lovely rural area and the views from the outdoor classroom shelter are super. Because the benches are in the round it is a perfect place for group teaching and demonstrating. On top of that it's a lovely quite, peaceful and private area to teach in."
Mrs Wilde also explained that the children make full use of the shelter at playtime as it is the ideal meeting place or spot for a quiet chat.

They created the outdoor classroom within a cluster of silver birch trees which add an extra shaded area beyond the boundary of the main structure.
