New Playground Equipment has the Wow Factor for Hogarth Primary School

EVERY playtime is packed with fun for the pupils of a Nottingham primary school now a new adventure timber trail with the “wow factor” has been installed.

It took the pupils and Parent Teachers Association of Hogarth Primary School almost two years to raise the money to buy the playground equipment, but the verdict is it was definitely worth the wait.

The mind and muscle-stretching trim trail is made up of a series of seven school playground products designed by award-winning Wiltshire-based Playforce. The whole philosophy behind Playforce playground equipment is that it provides the perfect platform to exercise children’s bodies and minds through fun.

 Playforce prides itself on the ability to create playground playtime equipment that stimulates children’s imaginations, improves social behaviour and works on developing specific areas of the body and motor-skills – all these things help support learning.

“What we wanted was an extra focus for play times that would increase confidence, co-operative play and agility,” said vice chairperson of the school governors, Sharon Head.

“We don’t have any real behavioural problems at Hogarth, but all the children ever seemed to play was football and we wanted to provide playtime alternatives.

“The timber trail has definitely added a new dimension, the children couldn’t wait to get on it when they saw it being built and that enthusiasm hasn’t stopped, they think it’s fabulous.”

Mrs Head explained that the whole playground purchase process had been taken on by the PTA and the school council. She said she felt the fact the children were so heavily involved had increased their enjoyment of the playground equipment and provided them with a sense of ownership and responsibility.

“It took a lot of hard work to raise the money, which meant anticipation and expectation were very high, but its super, it’s fulfilled all our wishes, we are so chuffed,” said Mrs Head.
