New Playground Equipment is Irresistable for Gotham Primary School
Pupils at a Nottinghamshire primary school love their new Playforce playground equipment so much they have been asked not to use it at the end of school or parents simply cannot persuade them to leave.
And it's not just the children who find it irresistible - a number of the parents have also asked staff if they may have a turn as well.
"It's fantastic, we all love it," said the schools head teacher, Sue Lymn-Brewin. "I have to confess that the staff tried out the outdoor play equipment just after it was finished and when the children weren't here!
"It's so much more than just playground equipment. We are currently working towards our healthy schools charter and the timber trail will help us achieve it.
"It's had a huge impact and is easily the most popular thing in the school, it even looks great. If I could afford to I would definitely have more Playforce outdoor play equipment."
Playforce is the premier provider of school playground equipment and prides itself on the ability to design childrens play equipment areas that stimulate children's imaginations at the same time as stretching their muscles. Playforce provides the setting which inspires the children to create the rest of the story.
For Gotham School, Playforce created a timer trail that includes: a balance weaver, great for promoting balance but can also become a great cave with a little imagination; a Burma bridge with rubber posts to improve hand-eye co-ordination and excellent for role play; swinging logs with rubber step posts, good for building confidence and young pirates have also been known to 'hang about' this item; a rock and roll log, again great for upper body strength and co-operative play; a climbing wall, which creates a really great climbing challenge for children whilst they pretend to go mountaineering; a hanging rope traverse and a crossed rope walk, both excellent for developing upper body strength. Playforce also constructed a half-maze amphitheatre style, outdoor classroom seating area, which fulfils many different roles - the children can be taught in it, parents can sit and wait in it and during break times it can be used for quiet time and imaginative play.
Mrs Lymn-Brewin explained that Gotham School was a brand new school in September and the playground equipment has become quite a selling point.
