New Playground Equipment for Whole of School at Aston on Trent Primary

New playground equipment at a Derbyshire primary school is helping pupils work harder, increase physical activity and the outdoor playground design fits in with their natural environment.

Staff at Aston On Trent Primary School are delighted with the new timber trail fitted by Playforce, the leading provider of playground equipment for schools, they have noticed the children are clearly benefiting from it's use.

Wiltshire-based Playforce prides itself on the ability to design outdoor play equipment areas that stimulate childrens imaginations and improve social behaviour at the same time as stretching their muscles.

The children create their own games and magical worlds using Playforce timber trail obstacles. Each item is designed to provide much more than just fun.

The timber trail with two loops provided Key Stage 1 children with an 'escape' route should they feel they couldn't complete the whole course. The Key Stage 2 children would be able to complete the whole timber trail which involved more upper body skills in the second loop. The timber trail provided a mixture of balance, stretching, upper body strength development and climbing. All the playground equipment was low level ensuring that there was no need for any safer surfacing.

Following guidance from the Playforce School Grounds Consultant Fran Brown on funding ideas, the playground equipment was paid for by money raised by the School's Parent Association who were clearly delighted at the value for money.

Head Teacher Mrs Tunley said "The children enjoyed watching installers during break times, they absolutely love their new timber trail. I was impressed by the superb installation, as well as the support, guidance and well structured planning by the Playforce staff."
