Why did you want to develop your nursery grounds?
We wanted to bring indoor learning outside and was looking for a stimulating learning environment that captivates all the EYFS development areas.

What were the key elements that made Playforce stand from other providers?
All the products were made from natural materials which is something we wanted to incorporate into our outdoor area. The consultants were very professional and keen to plan and provide us with an outstanding outdoor provision that met our requirements.

The garden area has benefitted the children as it has given them the opportunity to develop new skills and allows them to explore the space independently.

How are you using the space to deliver EYFS learning outcomes and opportunities for free play?
The staff plan their outdoor activities weekly based on the children’s interest and have focused areas based on EYFS. Now the garden is more structured it allows provision that meets all EYFS requirements.

What are the biggest benefits you have seen for the children?
The garden area has benefitted the children as it has given them the opportunity to develop new skills and allows them to explore the space independently. With the vast range of equipment and variety of resources the staff are able to become more involved in the children’s learning development outdoors.

Can you share any best practice insights you have gained?
The space gives staff the opportunity to deliver the EYFS outdoors fully without having to use additional resources. It has given them a broader knowledge of how to implement the EYFS outdoors.
