Fay Wertheimer reports on Actionnaires, out-of-school sports clubs offering sport for visually impaired children. Action for Blind People aims to open 56 UK Actionnaires branches by 2010. A Department for Culture, Media & Sport spokesman said: “The Actionnaires clubs are excellent at encouraging blind & partially sighted children to play sport. The government recognises the benefits sport brings to these children and has been working through Youth Sport Trust with disability sport organisations.
