Torfaen Lea Finds Playforce Playground Equipment Simply the Best
Playforce, the UK’s premier provider of school playground equipment, has been awarded a significant contract by Torfaen County Borough Council based on the high quality of the timber playground products it produces and the service it provides.
In the next few months the Wiltshire-based company will install outdoor playground equipment designed to stretch the minds and bodies of early years foundation stage pupils at 24 schools in the Torfaen area of Wales.
Playforce competed against two other companies and were successful in winning the contract based on a best value Price/Quality Assessment. The Education Property Officer for Torfaen CBC, Cliff Day, said that he is delighted with the work undertaken.
Mr Day explained: “Torfaen CBC was awarded a substantial capital grant by the Welsh Assembly to help cover the cost of improving the external learning environment at 24 local schools so they will meet new Early Years Foundation Stage learning requirements due to be implemented in 2008”.
“Although I did not personally select Playforce, I had visited one of the company’s projects and talked to the head teacher of the school concerned. She had nothing but praise for the quality of the service Playforce provided from start to finish.”
The Evaluation process to select a Contractor was managed by Andrew Williams a Principal Engineer at Torfaen County Borough Council. Andrew selected Playforce to Tender for the works largely based on their previous high quality performance on other projects.
Mr Williams carried out a price/quality evaluation of several companies in the field and Playforce were successful in winning the project based on these criteria.
