Playforce Appoints New Sales Manager
The appointment of a new sales manager is regarded as key to the continuing growth of Playforce, the company that recently scooped the highly prestigious Wiltshire Business of the Year title.
David Wenn, from Bristol, is a highly experienced sales and advertising executive with an impressive list of career credentials. Previously Advertising Director of Creation Advertising, he has also been Commercial Director of Bristol City Football Club and Regional Sales Director of GCAP Media.
David’s new role will be to run the sales department at Playforce, one of the UK’s leading playground equipment providers, and develop new ideas and markets nationally.
‘I’m very pleased to have joined the company at such an exciting point in its development,’ he said. ‘In the last nine years Playforce has grown from sole trader status to a multi-million pound concern that provides employment for nearly 40 people. It is a young company that has earned an outstanding reputation for the quality of its products and the top class service it provides. My job is to improve its market share still further and to help take it on to the next stage of growth.’
Managing Director Edward Webb, who started the business with a £5000 Prince’s Trust loan when he was just twenty four years old, welcomed David to the Playforce team.
‘David has a wealth of experience which should prove invaluable in taking the company forward,’ he said. ‘We are very fortunate to have him.’
Playforce achieved Beacon status in 2006 and has just been awarded the 2007 National Winner Manufacturing title in a competition organised by the Federation of Small Business.
