Free fruit at school has little benefit says study published in health journal

 

A Government scheme launched three years ago to give children free fruit has failed to improve children’s health. This was the conclusion of a study published today by Prof. Lowe of the University of Bangor’s Food and Activity Research Unit. The scheme cost an initial £42 million to launch and has been given a further £77 million by the Department of Health.
