Children Swing into Action at New Playground
Youngsters at a city school are enjoying a new outdoor playground area despite the wet weather.
The Paragon school has completed work on a new £18,000 activity area, which has been funded by the school’s PTA committee and a donation from businessman David Medlock, whose child used to attend the school.
The area features wooden timber trail, climbing frames and ropes as well as balancing beams.
It took around two years for the planning process to be completed and for cash to be raised for the scheme.
But Headteacher David Martin said “ it had been well worth the wait.
It has transformed break times for us, he said.
We have a nice piece of grass in front of the school for children to play on during the summer months when it’s dry. But it also has an all weather surface so we can use it all year round.
