Obese children risk being stigmatised

Overweight children are being put at risk of being bullied by Government schemes designed to help them warns Parentline Plus.

Hilary Chamberlain, the charity’s policy manager raised concern over the levels of discretion in part of Government schemes, such as the weighing of children in open plan areas.. 

A study last year for the NHS Modernisation Agency warned health workers to show ‘greater sensitivity’ when tackling obesity in children.
