Last week was National Breakfast Week! That’s right, a celebration all about the most important meal of the day - breakfast. We spent the week following the online chat and talking to schools about how they help their children to learn all about the importance of… well, the most important meal of the day!  And, of course, we also spent the week, trying out some AMAZING breakfast recipes.

At Playforce, not only are we expert playground equipment builders, we’re a source of fundraising tips and ideas (check out our Fundraising Guide) for proof! Here are just a few ideas for celebrating breakfast in your school…

Make a Muddy Breakfast

Encouraging children to use nature to create their very own pretend breakfast is a great way to welcome in Great British Brekkie Week. Our Upcycled Mud Kitchen is made from recycled timber - so each one is truly unique. Getting in contact with mud, grass, leaves and twigs can actually strengthen children’s immune systems and encourage them to love outdoor play.

Colouring in a breakfast plate

Holding a colouring competition with a big breakfast theme is sure to be a hit with children. The Great British Brekkie website will even send you a special themed colouring in pack so you can hold your very own colouring in competition.

Breakfast Quiz

From cereal box characters to naming the breakfast item, children of all ages can join in with the breakfast quiz. This is a great way to raise money for charity, along with developing team work and social skills in children.

Draw your dream breakfast

Getting the children to draw their dream breakfast can be a lovely way to help the children develop creative and imaginative skills. It can also be a brilliant technique to teach them about healthy eating and nutrition.

Nature Plate

Take the children outside and use twigs, leaves, stones and other bit of nature to create a breakfast nature plate! Simply stick the pieces onto a paper plate and watch how many amazing breakfast creations the children come up with!
