On Friday 18th December schools and workplaces will don novelty Christmas sweaters to raise money for Save the Children. Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day aims to encourage children and grown-ups alike to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Save the Children to help families in need over the festive season.
So where do you start with raising money for this spectacular day? Of course, you can encourage the children to come in wearing novelty sweaters and contribute money. But there are even more creative ideas to raise money for Christmas Jumper Day….
Winter Talent Show
This is one of the most fun ways to raise some money for charity on Christmas Jumper Day! Holding an all-inclusive talent show for the children to show off their skills is a fantastic way to encourage participation, unleash creativity and increase self-confidence. Sell tickets to parents and use the proceeds for your Save the Children pot. If you want to take it outside then our Music, drama and creative writing collection would be perfect for your school. Special Cinema
Children love watching their favourite films - especially when they get to do it at school! Transform the classroom or hall into a Christmas Cinema where children get to watch a festive film for the afternoon. All they would have to do is make a small donation towards a ticket and everyone is happy.
Design Your Dream Sweater
The wonderful thing about holding your own “Design Your Dream Christmas Sweater” competition is that it’s suitable for all ages! From Early Years to Juniors, all the children can draw their ideal Christmas sweater, with small prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Taking the competition outside with our outdoor classrooms range means the children can even use leaves, twigs and other nature to create a Christmas Jumper collage!
